Mysore Bonda

Mysore bonda is a tasty snack. This is a quick recipe from Vah chef. It tasted good too. It was simple to make. I made two side chutneys for it. One is coriander coconut chutney and Gram dal Chutney.

Ingredients:

  • Maida / All purpose flour - 1 cup
  • Rice flour - 1/4 cup
  • Chilly - 2 chopped
  • Ginger grated - little
  • Cumin seeds - 1 tsp
  • Salt
  • Baking soda - 1/2 tsp
  • Buttermilk - 1 cup ( required to need the dough)

Method:

  • Mix all the dry ingredients together.
  • Using buttermilk, knead the mixture into a soft dough. It should not be like chapathi dough. It should be little watery, not to the extent of dosa batter. It would be sticky since we are using maida.
  • If it  becomes thick. Sprinkle water and make it little watery.
  • Keep it aside for 10 mins. It would give a fermented effect, the baking soda and buttermilk mix together and give the effect.
  • Heat oil in a pan, take one hand flour from the batter and place it in the hot oil. Fry on medium flame.

  • Fry on both sides and serve with spicy chutneys.

Yummy spongy Bondas....
